"Fit For Human Rights?!":
An international training course about human rights education for youth work
and school
15th July 2006- 22th July 2006 in Nuremberg, Germany
(puplicity sponsored by the EU-Youth-Programme)
Human rights are more than political agreements and legal regulations - human
rights should be retrieved in our everyday co-existence: The way we live
together with our different cultures or religious background, how we deal with
conflicts, but also how important we see ourselves and our needs. So human
rights education should be more than pure transfer of knowledge: People have to
develop a tolerant, peacefully and non-violent co-existence and their awareness
about everyday human rights abuse must be improved. The educational
institutions and organisations have to meet this challenge in their pedagogic
practice.
That's where the training course starts: We want to invite interested leaders or pedagogic employees of youth work and students from Germany, France, Poland and Czech Republic to deal with the subjects of human rights and human rights education in an integrated and cross-cultured way. The participants will develop and actualise practical units of human rights, tolerance and cultural diversity. They can transfer this knowledge into their own future work. Furthermore we want to motivate to intercultural and anti-racist trainings with young people at school. Therefore the participants are going to develop a school workshop which will be held for students in the city of Nuremberg at the end of the training.
The training will be place in Nuremberg, where you can visit and experience a lot of interesting places about human rights and human rights abuse: the Street Of Human Rights, the Centre Of Human Rights, the Ex-Reichsparteitagsgelände of the Nazis etc.. The joint visit of these places will be a part of the programme.
COSTS: The costs of participation incl. accommodation and food amount 180 Euro/person for German and French participants, for Polish and Czech participants 50 Euro/person. 70% of travelling expensens will be reimbursed.
